Course Duration

16 hours total, taught over two consecutive 8-hour days on campus


Course Description

This course fulfills the mandatory STCW requirements for Crisis Management and Human Behavior training for mariners with designated duties on Ro-Ro passenger ships and other passenger vessels.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Assist passengers during emergencies

  • Manage and guide passenger responses

  • Communicate effectively under pressure

Training includes focused classroom instruction and hands-on practical exercises to reinforce learning objectives.


USCG Approval

This course is USCG-approved and meets the following regulatory requirements:

  • STCW Code: Regulation V/2 (paragraphs 7–8), Regulation V/3 (paragraphs 4–5)
  • CFR Compliance:
    • 46 CFR Subpart J §§15.1101–15.1105 (STCW Certification)
    • 46 CFR Chapter I, Subpart 171.01–171.105 (Passenger Vessels)
