Roger “Trigger” Burke ’65

Roger K. Burke, known by his friends as Trigger, age 69, died suddenly Saturday, July 27, 2013 at home.

Born in Boston, MA, Trigger worked for The American Bureau of Shipping and Keystone Shipping Company as a surveyor, naval architect and engineer for over 40 years. He was a member of SNAME, Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. His passion was traveling with his wife Essie; their favorite destination was Aruba where they visited every year. 

Trigger is survived by his wife of 18 years, Essie; 2 children, Paul and Michelle; 4 step-children, Holly, Thomas, Stephen, and David; several grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a step-sister Heather.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 1st from 6-8pm at the McCRERY & HARRA Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt. 202 S. of Silverside Rd.), Wilmington, DE 19803 where overflow parking is available at the Brandywine YMCA. Another viewing will be held the following day from 10-11 with a funeral service beginning at 11 am. There will be a reception following the service. Cremation will take place privately after the service.
