Emery G. Purslow ’56
Emery G. Purslow, 85, died after a lengthy illness, at his home in Hancock, Maine, on June 24, 2020, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born on Sept. 6, 1934, in Nimes, France, the son of Donald Purslow and Marianne (Dumas) Purslow. He came to live in Hancock in 1940.
Emery graduated Maine Maritime Academy in 1956. Following graduation, he worked as a chief engineer for Cove Shipping. Emery was an avid hiker and loved boating, fishing and hunting.
Emery is survived by his beloved partner of 20 years, Cheryl Rubin; his ex-wife, Mireille Purslow of Montreux, Switzerland; his daughter, Mirabelle Pasquali-Purslow, and his grandchildren Allyson and Jayson of Montreux, Switzerland; his brother, Captain Gerald Purslow, and his wife, Mary Purslow, of Sorrento (and Saint James City, Fla.); and his sisters, Brigitte Cassidy of Ocala, Fla., and Nichole Purslow of Saignon, France.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
