Richard A. Condon ’64
Richard Condon, 81, spent his last year at the Orono Commons Nursing Home where he recently contracted COVID-19, which claimed his life. He was born August 1, 1939, in Brewer, the son of Harry Alton and Robina Mary Condon and passed away January 30, 2021.
Richard amused us all with his unique habit of copying and saving everything. He loved taking pictures and captured many special moments on video. Richard had many hobbies including reading, being an amateur radio operator (ham radio), baseball, watching movies and listening to music. Richard also loved his model railroad sets. Next to the love Richard had for his family and friends, he had two other loves, the first being his 1959 Austin-Healey Sprite Bugeye. This was Richard’s first car, and he was proud to be the sole owner. Second, would be his love for his camp at George’s Pond. He went to camp often until it became too difficult for him to make the trip.
Richard was very thankful for all the love and support he received from Michael and Lisa Buck, Joe and Brenda DeRoche, and Steve and Mary Jackson.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Condon; daughter-in-law, Natasha Condon; sisters-in-law, Joyce Reynolds and Ann Lawrence; brothers-in-law Clyde Reynolds and Norman Saue
He is survived by his son, Richard Condon; sisters-in-law, Kay Saue and Elsie Buck; brother-in-law, Dana Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews. Richard is also survived by a dear, life-long friend, Doris.
A private graveside service at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor, will be held at a later date. A service of Brookings-Smith.
