Steven W. Edgecomb, Sr. ’69
Steven W. Edgecomb Sr., 73, passed away December 5, 2020. He was born July 24, 1947 in Bangor, Maine, the son of Walter and Mary (Ranney) Edgecomb.
Steven graduated from Hermon High School class of 1965. He went on to Maine Maritime Academy and graduated class of 1969. Following graduation he worked as a merchant marine for four years. After shipping, he went to work for General Electric for seven years before going to work for the pulp and paper industry. He eventually went to work for SKF Bearing for 30 years until his retirement.
Steven married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn, in 1969, and they enjoyed 51 years together.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Carolyn, is his son, Steven Edgecomb Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Brewer; daughter, Paula and her husband, Lance Cote, of Brewer; brothers, Chip Edgecomb and his wife, Cheryl, of Manchester Maine, Jeff Edgecomb and his wife, Linda, of Orono; sister, June LaPlante and her husband, David, of Dedham Maine; grandchildren, Jacob Cote, Mya Edgecomb, Madison Cote, and Ryan Edgecomb; Brother-in-law, Bill Leonard, of Pompano Beach, Florida; and many other nieces and nephews that he loved.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Carl Edgecomb; and mother-in-law, Pauline Leonard.
Interment will be held later in the spring at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hermon.
