Remembering Dylan Meklin ’15
Dylan Oke Meklin, a 2015 graduate of Maine Maritime Academy, was a dedicated mariner with a love for the sea and a commitment to excellence. Born on February 8, 1992, in Rockport, Maine, Dylan pursued a career at sea with passion, professionalism, and ...integrity.
Dylan served aboard the SS El Faro when the vessel tragically sank on October 1, 2015, during Hurricane Joaquin. Known for his strong work ethic, quiet determination, and dedication to his shipmates, Dylan left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
We honor Dylan’s life, his devotion to the maritime profession, and the enduring legacy he left as part of the MMA community.
Join us in person or via livestream for an El Faro commemorative ceremony on Leavitt Lawn on October 1, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. (Livestream: https://live.mainemaritime.edu)
