MMA to Celebrate the Class of 2020 in Virtual Commencement Ceremony on June 6

CASTINE, Maine—Maine Maritime Academy will celebrate its 77th Commencement on Saturday, June 6, 2020 with an online ceremony for the Class of 2020. The event begins at 11:00 a.m. at commencement.mainemaritime.edu. The college will also provide a live feed to facebook, enabling family and friends to watch and comment over social media.

Commencement speakers will include President William J. Brennan, Ph.D.; Earle A. Cianchette ’77, Chair of the Board of Trustees; alumni, faculty, and students. Acting Provost and Academic Dean Capt. Mark Cote ’83 will preside over the event.

“This significant milestone for our seniors is the most important event of the year,” said President Brennan. “Though we can’t gather together, I am delighted we can celebrate the Class of 2020’s years of hard work, their academic achievements, and their perseverance through present challenges with a joyful community send-off.”

Maine Maritime Academy is a co-educational, public college on the coast of Maine offering  programs of study in engineering, management, science, and transportation. The college serves approximately 950 undergraduate and graduate students in career-oriented degree programs. The annual job placement rate for MMA graduates is approximately 90 percent within 90 days of graduation. The college is consistently recognized for providing a high-value education by organizations such as the Brookings Institution, U.S. News and World Report, and Money Magazine.
