CASTINE, Maine—The Maine Maritime Academy Board of Trustees will meet in committees from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5 in the Holmes Heritage Room, located at the Harold Alfond Student Center on the campus in Castine. The Board of Trustees quarterly meeting will be held from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., also on Friday in the Holmes Heritage Room.
Student Trustee Matthew Fendl of Ellsworth, Maine will complete his year of service on the Board of Trustees at the upcoming meeting. Governor Paul LePage has nominated Truman Slocum to serve as Student Trustee for 2017-18 to be reviewed by the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee with confirmation by the Maine Senate shortly thereafter. Truman is a member of the Class of 2018, majoring in Marine Transportation Operations. A member of the Student Government Association Executive Board, Truman is also a member of the Wedge (student leadership of the Regiment), and the Band Company Leader. He is from Phippsburg, Maine.
The next MMA Board of Trustees meeting will be held Friday, August 11, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.
