S. Catherine “Katy” Longley

Catherine Longley PortraitS. Catherine “Katy” Longley is the retired executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Jackson Laboratory, she first joined JAX in August 2016 as the vice president and chief financial officer after a distinguished career in finance, government, and law. From 2018 to 2024, Katy provided strategic leadership, direction, and management for operating activities of the Laboratory.

Prior to joining JAX, Longley served for 14 years as the Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration and Treasurer at her alma mater, Bowdoin College in Brunswick. She also served as commissioner of Professional & Financial Regulation in the cabinet of Maine Governor Angus King and practiced law at Verrill in Portland for over a decade. Katy currently serves as a director and chair of the audit committee of Camden National Corporation in Camden and has served on numerous boards and commissions throughout her professional career. Katy holds a B.A. degree in history from Bowdoin College and a J.D. cum laude from Suffolk University Law School.
