Elizabeth True currently serves as the Vice President of Student Affairs at Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor where she oversees all student life and enrollment functions. Her education career has included teaching stints from sixth grade through graduate school as well as administrative positions in higher education at Maine Maritime Academy, Cornell University, Mount Ida College and Castleton State College. True is actively involved in her professional organization, NASPA, and has served as state director for NASPA in Maine and Vermont as well as Vermont and Massachusetts State Coordinator for the American Council on Education National Network for Women Leaders. A long-time school board member in her town of Sedgwick, True was elected by her peers to serve as Union 76 Board Chair in 2021.

She holds a doctorate in Educational Policy and Leadership Studies from the University of Vermont, a master’s degree in Counselor Education from the University of Maine and a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Mount Holyoke College.
