CASTINE, Maine—Maine Maritime Academy recently named 358 students to the Dean’s List for outstanding academic achievement in the second semester of the 2018-2019 academic year.

CASTINE, Maine – The International Guild of Miniature Artisans (IGMA) will be hosting the 38th annual Guild School at Maine Maritime Academy from June 8-14. Free exhibitions for the public will be held Sunday through Wednesday, June 9-12, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on Thursday, June 13, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the Harold Alfond Student Center Harborview Room on the campus in Castine.Read More…
Maine Maritime Academy Training Ship State of Maine to Depart May 8 for European Ports

CASTINE, Maine—Maine Maritime Academy students, officers, and crew will depart Castine on Wednesday, May 8 at approximately 2:00 p.m. on the Training Ship State of Maine (TSSOM) for the annual training evolution to foreign and domestic ports of call. This year’s itinerary includes stops in Vigo and Barcelona, Spain; Portsmouth, England; Tallinn, Estonia; Oslo, Norway; Boston, Massachusetts; and Searsport, Maine. Maine Maritime Academy Commencement Set for Saturday, May 4, 2019

CASTINE, Maine—The 2019 Commencement will be held at Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday, May 4 at 11 a.m. at the Alexander Field House. Secretary of the Navy Richard V. Spencer will be the college’s Commencement speaker. U.S. Senator Susan M. Collins will introduce Secretary Spencer.

Maine Maritime Academy Board of Trustees to Hold Quarterly Meeting, Welcome New Student Trustee

CASTINE, Maine—The Board of Trustees of Maine Maritime Academy will hold a regular quarterly meeting on Friday, May 3, 2019. The Board will meet as a Committee of the Whole to conduct committee business beginning at 9:00 a.m., with a break for lunch between 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m., and convene later in the afternoon as the Board to take formal action. The meeting is expected to conclude at 4:00 p.m.

Largest Gift in Maine Maritime Academy History Fuels Launch of $20 Million Campaign for Scholarships

CASTINE, Maine—MMA President William J. Brennan announced today the launch of a $20 million fundraising campaign, Opening Doors, Changing Lives: the Scholarship Campaign for Maine Maritime Academy. A lead gift of $10 million to the campaign is the largest philanthropic gift ever received by the college.

Secretary of the Navy to Address Class of 2019 at Commencement

CASTINE, Maine—Maine Maritime Academy President William J. Brennan announced today that Secretary of the Navy Richard V. Spencer will deliver the college’s Commencement address on Saturday, May 4, 2019 in Castine.
Richard V. Spencer was sworn in as the 76th Secretary of the Navy in August of 2017. Prior to his nomination, Spencer served on the Defense Business Board and the Chief of Naval Operations Executive Panel.
