Small Craft Systems

The Small Craft Systems program leads to an Associate of Science degree that is offered jointly by Maine Maritime Academy in Castine and The Landing School of Boatbuilding and Design in Kennebunkport, Maine. Students spend one year at Maine Maritime Academy as residential students in Castine and one year in the Marine Systems program at The Landing School in Kennebunkport. Students must meet admission criteria for both institutions to be accepted into this degree program.

The Small Craft Systems program emphasizes the interface of marine systems with boat design and construction while practicing the actual installation of these systems in a real-world setting.

Students complete one cooperative education assignment in small vessel operations while enrolled at Maine Maritime Academy.

Participation in the Regiment is optional when enrolled in this major.
