Kari Jones earned her BS in International Business and Logistics in 2013, and decided to stay an additional year to receive her MS in Global Logistics and Maritime Management from Maine Maritime Academy. During her time at MMA, Kari was a member and captain of both the women’s soccer and basketball teams, and regularly tutored Business Calculus. After her junior year she completed her internship with Ingram Barge Company, where she gained valuable insight about the country’s inland water way industry. Upon graduation in 2014, Kari accepted a role with Wal-Mart Logistics as a Receiving Manager for the Regional Distribution Center in Lewiston, Maine and was in that position for 1.5 years before accepting a position with Sappi North America as a Logistics Engineer in South Portland. Currently entering her 7th year with the company, Kari has been a part of both the domestic and international logistics department, troubleshooting any issues with customer deliveries, process improvement projects, and global rate negotiations. As a Supply Chain Lead her main responsibilities today include managing a team that oversees the US Exports and European Imports. Outside of work, Kari continues to play basketball and spend time with her friends and family in Portland ME all while spoiling her dog, Tilly, with all the dog collars from Sew Fetch Dog Co.!
