Sierra earned her B.S. in Marine Biology from Maine Maritime Academy in 2019. While at MMA, she was a four-year member of the Women’s Cross Country and Lacrosse teams. She served as a captain/team leader for three of her four years on the lacrosse team and was very active in the campus community. She served as the 2019 Class Treasurer, as a SAAC representative, and as a student member of the Honor Board. After graduating, she began her professional career with The Jackson Laboratory working in animal care and has since transitioned into a new role as a research assistant.

Sierra was an assistant coach for the Maine Maritime Academy Women’s Cross Country team in the fall of 2019 and joined the Women’s Lacrosse team as an assistant coach in the spring of 2020. While balancing these roles with a full-time work schedule, she has also been taking classes online to fulfill prerequisite requirements for graduate school. Outside of these commitments, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, hiking, doing yoga, riding horses, nordic skiing, and raising her three-month-old kitten, Otto.
