Lauren graduated from Maine Maritime in 2017 with a B.S. in Marine Biology and Small Vessel Operations. She also earned a minor in Business Management. As a Mariner, Lauren was a four-year member, and two-year captain of the Women’s Soccer team. Additionally, the program honored her efforts and dedication by naming the Mariner’s Woman’s Soccer Leadership Award in her name, which is given out annually.

Lauren began her professional career joining Muscongus Bay Aquaculture, Inc. as an aquaculture technician where she splits her time between the shellfish hatchery, nursery, and farm. Her work includes spawning and raising American Oysters, Bay Scallops, and Quahogs to be sold as “seed” to other shellfish farms. Lauren became interested in aquaculture after her MMA Senior Research Project where she utilized the common periwinkle to control biofouling in suspended aquaculture.

Outside of her career, Lauren enjoys spending time outdoors with family, friends, and her dogs.
