Jillian Perron pictureMajor: Marine Biology
Graduation Year: 2015
Current Position: Small Animal Veterinarian
Company: At-Home Veterinary Care

Jilian earned her B.S. in Marine Biology from Maine Maritime Academy in 2015. While attending she was a two-year captain of the Women’s Basketball team. She continued her education on the Caribbean island of Grenada at Saint George’s University, earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

In her “free time” she was found hiking the jungle, diving shipwrecks, and spearing lionfish. During this time, she took advantage of the ease of travel including a sailing trip through the Tobago Cays and spending the Summer of 2017 at a wildlife rehabilitation center in Lilongwe, Malawi. She also explored the cultures of a variety of South African countries including Zambia, Malawi, and Tanzania, all while learning and practicing wildlife conservation and medicine. Jillian concluded her educational career in at Cornell University, where she completed her clinical training with a large animal focus.

In 2019 she moved back to Maine to start her career as an associate small animal veterinarian at At-Home Veterinary Care in West Gardiner. Here she worked alongside the original owner of the practice for approximately 18 months before he relocated to Florida with his family. Through persistence, compassion, and dedication to both her clients and patients she earned the Chief of Staff position of the bustling practice.

When not seeing patients or completing house calls, she enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending weekends at camp with her beloved family and two dogs, Annie and Bozeman.
