After a successful sailing season to the South Coast of Newfoundland with a full crew of MMA students, preparations are in place for winter maintenance. This winter, MMA will complete a hull refurbishment project to ensure that the Bowdoin is able to continue serving her mission as a training vessel, as the Official Vessel of the State of Maine, and as a National Historic Landmark.

This week the shipyard is busy preparing the vessel to be moved into Building 4 at The Shipyard in Boothbay Harbor.  This climate-controlled workspace will allow for maximum efficiency to complete the work needed so that Bowdoin will be able to sail for her 98th season of operation.
