Alpha assumed the watch while Charlie started another block of training and Delta has picked up the maintenance work. Bravo has taken over cleaning duties and their 2/C have started a round of license prep classes. Once again we have calm seas and clear weather making for a great training and maintenance environment.
- Delta 4/C under the supervision of the 3rd Mate hose down life boat number 3 to remove any build-up of salt from the sea spray and dirt accumulation. Those working in the boat are required to wear work vests fitted with flotation material.
- Charlie 4/C students practice the practical application of knots while on deck training this morning. Their objective was to tie a knot, or combination of knots, around a crate so that the crate would not tip over when being raised to the 03 deck from the 01.
- 2/C Eckert documents the result of a sounding she just took on one of our main engine lube oil settling tanks.
- With the stopper knot holding securely Charlie 4/C transfer the line from the winch drum to the bitt. 4/C Kinsman can be seen putting turns around the bitt.
