Bio

Captain Monroe has more than two decades of seagoing experience as a deck officer, chief officer, and captain aboard naval surface combatants and as captain of a 55m/180ft superyacht.

A retired Navy Commander, Captain Monroe earned his commission through the NROTC program and served for more than twenty years on active duty as a surface warfare officer. While on active duty, he was captain of a Bath-built AEGIS destroyer homeported in Japan.

Captain Monroe is a licensed attorney and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court and all state/local courts in Maine. Prior to joining MMA, he worked in the superyacht industry and practiced maritime and corporate law at a well-known regional law firm based in Portland, Maine.
