Michael R. Fulton ’59

Michael R. Fulton passed February 12, 2026 in Portland, Oregon, the result of a fall.

After graduation at MMA he married and moved to back San Diego where he was born and raised.  His employment there was with National Steel and Shipbuilding where he was a draftsman, then estimator.

In 1967 he moved with his family to Idaho Falls, Idaho, to attend and graduated from Westinghouse Electric Nuclear Power School.  After graduation, he moved to San Diego to join his brother, Patrick ’59 at Owens Corning, working as subcontractors for insulation of ships under construction at NASSCO.  After OC’s take over by Performance Contracting Incorporated, Mike was the Manager of Repair.

After retirement, Mike moved to Portland, Oregon, to be near family where he passed away.

He was a member of Propeller Club and Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.

Maine Maritime always had a special place in his heart.
