Endowed Scholarship Program

For Upper-Class Students (completed two semesters at Maine Maritime Academy)

Maine Maritime Academy holds a number of endowed scholarship funds that have been established through the generosity of alumni and friends of the Academy.  A number of these funds specify criteria (beyond financial need) that students must meet to qualify.

For a student to be considered for one or more of these scholarships, they must:

    1. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 1st each year
    2. Submit the MMA Scholarship Application form by January 1st each year
  1. Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher at the close of each fall semester

The MMA Scholarship application will help the scholarship committee determine if a student qualifies for any of these scholarships.  The MMA Scholarship application is available each year, starting November 1st, at each student’s MMA portal account under Helpful Links & Resources.

Qualification does not guarantee a scholarship.

An MMA Scholarship may be withdrawn if you:

  1. Change your major and the MMA scholarship was issued based on certain criteria determined by your major
  2. Violate the Community Code of Conduct
  3. Fail to write a thank-you letter

All endowed scholarships are issued in accordance with the Academy’s program of financial aid, which requires that recipients must have financial need and a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.5 or higher, unless indicated otherwise by the donor.
