MMA is a proud supporter of Opportunity Maine, a program that was passed by the Maine State Legislature in the summer of 2007. It became effective on January 1, 2008 and available to anyone who has received an associate’s, bachelor’s and/or graduate degree. The State of Maine offers Educational Opportunity Tax Credit (EOTC) for any Maine college graduates who has borrowed loans and lives and works in Maine after graduation. The program provides a state income tax credit for student loan payments made by degree earners who live, work and pay taxes in Maine after graduation. The Financial Aid Office wants to be sure that all students are aware of the program and take the necessary steps to enroll in the program.
