The next chapter begins today as a new class of MUGs — Midshipmen Under Guidance — reports to Maine Maritime Academy for Regimental Preparatory Training.

For the next week, these newest members of the Regiment will learn the standards, skills and traditions... that define life as a Maine Maritime midshipman. Guiding them along the way are our upperclassmen, the Strikers, who are ready to teach, challenge and support their MUGs every step of the way.

And what better place to begin than aboard the STATE OF MAINE — the Academy’s newest training ship and a powerful reminder of what lies ahead.

To the MUGs: embrace the challenge, learn from those around you and remember that every journey starts with a first step.
