Lila Eldridge earned her B.S. in Vessel Operations and Technology from Maine Maritime Academy in 2019. While attending, she was a member of Women on the Water, Propeller Club and the Women’s Rugby team. She began her career at Interlake Steamship Company on the Great Lakes in December of 2019 as an AB. Due to Covid-19 and the inevitably of ships being laid up, she was laid off in April of 2020. She got a job in May 2020 for Crowley Fuels in Western Alaska on a wire boat. After two seasons of towing in Alaska, she wanted to further her professional career with Crowley. She transferred to Crowley Petroleum Services in December 2021 where she was placed on the ATB Liberty/750-3 to fulfill a permanent 3rd Mate billet. She gained a lot of knowledge moving multiple clean grade petroleum products in the Gulf of Mexico and was promoted to 2nd Mate in November 2022. In additional to life at sea, she can be found at home with her dog Schaefer and her fiancé Sam. She enjoys hiking, ice fishing and riding her horses.
