Homecoming 2017

Homecoming 2017 was an enjoyable event for alumni and friends alike. A grand reception, inductions, music, a road race, golf, athletic events, children activities, March On, boat rides, and a barbecue highlighted an event-filled weekend on campus. Here are a couple of comments we received following the festivities:

“It was an outstanding event. I have never seen so many people in Castine.” – Member, ‘Class of ’62

“Great job this weekend. We had a good time. I know it’s early but do you know when next year Homecoming date will be decided? Bunch of us have been talking over the weekend and we are making plans ;-)” – Member, Class of ’93.

Take Homecoming 2017 Survey

New for this year: Alumni Honor Alley on Pleasant Street  “…was a stroke of genius. It created an excellent venue for classes to mix and mingle.” (class member, ’72). The “Alley” gives noteworthy recognition to MMA’s Honor Classes, offering reserved reunion tents for your class gathering.

Homecoming 2018 is September 28 – 30, 2018.  Honor classes are ’53, ’58, ’68, ’73, ’78, ’83, ’88, ’93, ’98, ’03, ’08, and ’13. Pack your favorite snacks and beverage to enjoy while watching the football game from a prime viewing spot.  If your class wishes to gather but is not celebrating an Honor year, contact MMA Conferences and reserve a spot for Tent City, located opposite Pleasant Street. Room is available.

Alumni for Dining In

Alumni who wish to “host” a table at the student Dining In program, please contact Janet Acker at (207)326-2251.  Dates are November 13, 15, 28 and 30, 2017.

Hosted by the MMA President and Commandant of Midshipmen, this etiquette training program exposes all sophomores to the courtesies of a formal dinner setting. A receiving line, utensil use, table manners, and conversations prepare students for a business dining experience.

Night By The Bay Returns

Due to popular demand, MMA’s Night by the Bay will return to the Portland area on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Sable Oaks Marriott, South Portland. Bill Full ’76 is chair of this alumni effort, with a team to procure sponsorships, donations and items for the silent and live auctions. If interested in assisting Bill, contact the Alumni Relations at alumni@mma.edu. The event will have a Mardi Gras theme, featuring the State Street Traditional Jazz Band and MMA’s own John Page ’68.
