Homecoming is a highly anticipated event where we salute the alumni who venture to their old homeport to reunite, reminisce, socialize and engage in campus activities.
It has been a very challenging year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we were disappointed that we could not celebrate Homecoming 2020 in person. However, we wanted to perpetuate the Mariner spirit. With the creativity and tireless effort of our communications and IT staff, we created a virtual Homecoming 2020 that was made available to our alumni and friends on October 3 online.
The Honor Classes (ending in 0s and 5s) got Spirit Week started with virtual reunions. We were pleased with the turnout, but there is nothing like the real thing. So, 2021 will still be their year! We are extending the celebration with opportunities for a Summer Reunion, a Fall 2021 event with the 2020 and 2021 Honor Classes reuniting for a grand on-campus reunion, or both. Contact alumni@mma.edu for more information.
In the meantime, we look forward to the time, as circumstances allow, when campus will be open again to visitors. We will keep you posted regarding when we can welcome you to stop by the Castine campus to say hello. We miss seeing you.
