Tim Leach receives MMA Excellence in Teaching Award

On November 6, Associate Professor of Marine Transportation Captain Tim Leach ’05 & ’10 accepted the Maine Maritime Academy Excellence in Teaching Award. The Excellence in Teaching award is given annually in recognition of faculty who consistently challenge and inspire students, and whose teaching has lasting impacts on student learning. During his 45 years at Maine Maritime Academy, Leach has served as captain of multiple training vessels, most notably the Tug Pentagoet. Leach has taught courses in both the Marine Transportation and Engineering Departments and currently instructs NS-471, Tug and Barge Operations.
