Day 40: Estonia bound!

Posted on: June 13, 2019

Students and faculty enjoyed their last full day in the Southampton, England, on June 11.  Before we left, a group of midshipmen and faculty were able visit Stonehenge, a world-famous historical sight. On June 12 we set sail for Tallinn, Estonia, at around 1000. After a smooth pilotage out to the sea buoy, we were officially underway and looking forward to the next few days at sea.

Our first full day at sea has been relatively straightforward.  Alpha Company assumed the watch from Charlie Company last night at 2400 hours.  Bravo Company is continuing its third day of training, and some of the Deck students are learning about line handling.  Charlie Company has had a normal day of utility.  Delta Company performed maintenance today. Tomorrow will be a big day for everyone aboard, as we will be entering the Kiel Canal and sailing through Germany!
