Here you will find useful information, tasks to complete, and information about attending one of our two New Student Orientation (NSO) sessions. New Student Orientation will enable you to connect with your peers and become familiar with the MMA campus.<\/p>\n<div id=\"inPerson2\">\n<h2 style=\"border-bottom: 3px solid #7AC142;\">2026-2027 Academic Year Housing Applications<\/h2>\n<p>The 2026-2027 On-Campus and Off-Campus Housing Applications will opened on Monday, February 9 and are available in your <a href=\"https:\/\/mainemaritime.starrezhousing.com\/StarRezPortalX\/6C18CE77\/1\/1\/Home-Home?UrlToken=4EB154E2\">My Student Life portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE FOR STUDENTS &amp; PARENTS\/GUARDIANS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Residential Life strongly encourages <strong>students<\/strong> to complete their own housing application, rather than having a parent\/guardian do so on their behalf. As the individual who will be living with a roommate(s), students are best equipped to assess their own preferences, habits, and expectations for a successful living arrangement with a roommate(s).<\/p>\n<p>While parents\/guardians undoubtedly have their student&#8217;s best interests in mind, it is essential that the housing application reflects the student&#8217;s own perspective. Providing accurate and sincere responses to the profile questions is a critical first step toward fostering a compatible and positive roommate experience.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"border-bottom: 3px solid #7AC142;\">Housing For New Regimental Students<\/h2>\n<p>With the arrival of <em>TS State of Maine<\/em> in Castine in the summer of 2026, the current working plan is for all new Regimental students to reside aboard the ship during Regimental Preparatory Training (RPT) and Midshipman Under Guidance (MUG) Month, and then move into Curtis Hall. This plan is contingent upon students being able to safely travel between the waterfront and <em>TS State of Maine<\/em> amid the ongoing pier project, and on the pier project not impeding safe egress from the vessel. While this housing arrangement differs from recent years, it represents a return to standard operating practices for RPT and MUG Month.<\/p>\n<p>If the pier renovation project does not allow for students to safely reside on\u00a0<em>TS State of Maine<\/em> during RPT and MUG Month, students will move directly into their room in Curtis when they arrive on campus in August.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"border-bottom: 3px solid #7AC142;\">Orientation Sessions<\/h2>\n<p>Choosing your New Student Orientation session is part of your housing application on your <a href=\"https:\/\/mainemaritime.starrezhousing.com\/StarRezPortalX\/6C18CE77\/1\/1\/Home-Home?UrlToken=4EB154E2\">My Student Life portal<\/a>. Attending an NSO is optional, but we hope you will join us on campus for one!<\/p>\n<p><strong>2026 NSO Session Dates<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Session 1: June 27, 2026 | 8:30 a.m. &#8211; 3:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Session 2: July 11, 2026 | 8:30 a.m. &#8211; 3:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each New Student Orientation session is capped at 100 students. Once you are confirmed your NSO, please notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend. For students arriving in town on Friday (due to flight schedules, long travel distances, etc.), a social event will be held each Friday night prior to Saturday\u2019s NSO.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/mainemaritime.edu\/student-life\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2025\/07\/July-12-NSO-Program.pdf\">While the NSO schedule for 2026 has not yet been solidified, here&#8217;s a copy of last year&#8217;s schedule to get an idea of what will go on at NSO.<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Virtual NSO:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"75\" data-end=\"376\">For students who are unable to attend an in-person NSO, we will host a virtual Q&amp;A session on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 7:30\u20139:00PM (EST). Representatives from several campus offices will join us to provide an overview of their work, explain how they support students, and answer your questions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"383\" data-end=\"623\" data-is-last-node=\"\">Students who are unable to attend an in-person NSO and wish to participate in the virtual Q&amp;A may register through the NSO section of their housing application.
