Trip North Started Today

Posted on: June 24, 2017

The Bowdoin got underway today for her trip north. We departed around 2:30 in the afternoon and completed several drills as we sailed south in Penobscot Bay. The crew reviewed the Station Bill and practiced their responsibilities for a man overboard situation and how to abandon ship. The abandon ship drill included donning clod water immersion suits which the crew affectionately call Gumby suits. We ended our first passage in beautiful Islesboro.
