They fully integrate into the battalion and serve in vital leadership roles and as mentors to our midshipmen. STA-21 and MECEP candidates must attend New Student Orientation (NSO).<\/p>\n<h2>STA-21 Program<\/h2>\n<p>The Seaman to Admiral (STA-21) Commissioning Program is designed to meet the goals of the Navy in the 21st Century, while at the same time creating a fair and equitable system for outstanding active duty Sailors to receive a top-notch college education and become commissioned officers.<\/p>\n<p>Read for more information on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netc.navy.mil\/Commands\/Naval-Service-Training-Command\/STA-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">STA-21 program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For those individuals who have been accepted or are applying to the STA-21 program, please feel free to contact the unit at 207-326-2465 for pertinent information.<\/p>\n<h2>MECEP<\/h2>\n<p>The Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program (MECEP) is an enlisted to officer commissioning program designed to provide outstanding enlisted Marines the opportunity to serve as Marine Corps officers. Marines selected for MECEP who successfully complete Officer Candidate School and graduate with a Bachelor\u2019s Degree will be commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps.<\/p>\n<p>Read for more information on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcrc.marines.mil\/Marine-Officer\/Officer-Naval-Enlisted-Applicants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MECEP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For those individuals who have completed OCS and have been accepted by MMA, University of Maine Orono, or Husson University, please contact the Marine Officer Instructor (MOI) 1st Lieutenant Joseph Hendron at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:joseph.hendron@mma.edu\">joseph.hendron@mma.edu<\/a>.
