{"id":20,"date":"2016-06-22T18:37:36","date_gmt":"2016-06-22T18:37:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mainemaritime.edu\/neasc\/?page_id=20"},"modified":"2016-06-22T18:39:44","modified_gmt":"2016-06-22T18:39:44","slug":"notice-of-public-comment-period-for-neasc-accreditation-self-study","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mainemaritime.edu\/neasc\/notice-of-public-comment-period-for-neasc-accreditation-self-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Notice of Public Comment Period for NEASC Accreditation Self-Study"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Notice of Public Comment Period for NEASC Accreditation Self-Study<\/h1>\n<p>Maine Maritime Academy will undergo a comprehensive evaluation visit November 6-9, 2016 by a team representing the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.<\/p>\n<p>Maine Maritime Academy has been accredited by the Commission since 1971 and was last reviewed in 2006.\u00a0 Its accreditation by the New England Association encompasses the entire institution.<\/p>\n<p>For the last two years, Maine Maritime Academy has been engaged in a process of self-study, addressing the Commission\u2019s Standards for Accreditation.\u00a0 An evaluation team will visit the institution to gather evidence that the self-study is thorough and accurate.\u00a0 The team will recommend to the Commission a continuing status for the institution. Following a review process, the Commission itself will take the final action.<\/p>\n<p>The public is invited to submit comments regarding the institution to:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Public Comment on Maine Maritime Academy<br \/>\nCommission on Institutions of Higher Education<br \/>\nNew England Association of Schools and Colleges<br \/>\n3 Burlington Woods Drive, Suite 100<br \/>\nBurlington, MA 01803-4514<br \/>\nE-mail:\u00a0 <a href=\"mailto:cihe@neasc.org\">cihe@neasc.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please note these guidelines from the Commission: public comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of the institution.\u00a0 The Commission cannot settle disputes between individuals and institutions, whether those involve faculty, students, administrators, or members of other groups.\u00a0 Comments will not be treated as confidential and must include the name, address, and telephone number of the person providing the comments.<\/p>\n<p>Public comments must be received by November 9, 2016.
