Successful Night by the Bay Raises Nearly $75,000<\/h1>\n

MMA alumni and friends gathered April 7 at the Sable Oaks Marriott for a night of fun, laughter, music and fundraising at the festive Night by the Bay auction.<\/p>\n

Nearly $75,000 was raised for student scholarships. More than 250 guests socialized while bidding on 65 silent auction items, such as a Tibetan hand-knotted rug ($575), an Isle of Shoals<\/em> tour ($230) and an MMA-welded outdoor fire pit ($200).\u00a0 The spirited live auction followed, where attendees bid heartily for 21 beautiful items.<\/p>\n

Two Eric Hopkins paintings went for top dollar ($4,600 total); a port light door table, built from a USS Upshur <\/em>promenade deck door brought a highest bid of $1,600; and a Bowdoin<\/em> sail for up to 30 guests raised $1,300.<\/p>\n

John Page \u201968 and the State Street Traditional Jazz Band provided lively entertainment following the live auction.<\/p>\n
