Steamship Authority New Hires

The Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority announces new hires with MMA ties.

Zachary A. Lawrence ’14 serves as the authority’s new Second Assistant Port Engineer. In this role, Lawrence assists the authority’s two port engineers with the day-to-day operations of the engineering department and maintenance activities of the authority’s fleet of ferries and associated vessels. For the last several years, he has served aboard offshore supply vessels and tug boats.

Timothy H. DeMoranville ’96 serves as the authority’s assistant vessel maintenance manager. In this newly created role, Mr. DeMoranville assists the vessel maintenance manager with the supervision of the maintenance department trades personnel and vessel personnel who are assigned to the Fairhaven Vessel Maintenance Facility, or any location where an authority vessel may be under repair or overhaul.

DeMoranville has more than 20 years of experience in the maritime field, including 14 years as the First Assistant/relief Chief Engineer aboard the TS Kennedy at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He most recently worked as a mechanical maintenance supervisor at Covanta SEMASS in Rochester, Massachusetts.
