Michael Ross joined Windstar Cruises as director of marine and safety operations. Michael Ross \u201983<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Ross brings experience spanning a career that encompasses positions on government vessels, Maersk Line and Koch Shipping, before his positions at Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line.<\/p>\n<p>He holds an unlimited master&#8217;s license and is a seasoned professional in all facets of global operations, fleet and vessel management. Ross places a heavy emphasis on environmental compliance, safety awareness and emergency preparedness and has twice received commendations for sea rescues, including the 2010 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amo-union.org\/Print~ID~201105-04.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at-sea rescue of two men in the Straits of Hormuz<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At Windstar, he is responsible for developing and implementing policies to ensure the fleet operates safely and with minimum environmental impact.
