Chief Mate John Holesha ’02 is profiled in a Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS) article this past summer. Pictured is Holesha, aboard USNS John Ericsson (T-AO 194), watching as the Japanese Self-Defense Force destroyer JS Shiranui (DD 120) breaks away after a replenishment at sea. Ericsson provides critical supplies to U.S. and partner nations’ navies operating in the Indo-Pacific Region. The fleet replenishment oiler is part of the U.S. Navy’s Combat Logistics force. Ericsson recently resupplied several Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force ships while operating in the Philippine Sea.
The DVIDS mission is to provide an accurate, reliable source for media organizations to access U.S. service members and commanders deployed in support of military operations worldwide. It is a state-of-the-art, 24/7 operation that provides a timely, accurate and reliable connection between the media around the world and the military serving at home and abroad.
