Dear Mariners,

It is my great pleasure to welcome Jamie Coffey as our new Director of Alumni Relations! The Alumni Association is delighted to have someone of her experience and caliber
joining Maine Maritime Academy. Jamie brings an impressive background in higher education and the nonprofit sector, with leadership roles at institutions including Barnard College/Columbia University, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and Ringling College of Art and Design. Her thoughtful approach to engagement and strategy will be invaluable as we continue strengthening connections across our global network of graduates.

Jamie has already hit the ground running. Not only did she have the opportunity to join us at our most recent Alumni Association meeting and holiday social, but she has also joined a few other chapter meetings throughout the region, and I know many of you will have the chance to meet her at various events in the months ahead.

I am impressed by Jamie’s genuine enthusiasm for becoming part of the MMA family. In her own words, “I am honored to join the incredible team at Maine Maritime Academy and to serve our esteemed alumni community. The passion and dedication of MMA graduates is truly inspiring, and I look forward to connecting with Mariners near and far as we strengthen the bonds that make this maritime family so special.”

A native of Florida and longtime New Yorker, she and her husband are thrilled to call beautiful Castine home. Her lighthearted spirit and dedication to building meaningful connections align perfectly with our mission to engage and support our alumni community.

I look forward to collaborating with Jamie as we work to enhance engagement between the Alumni Association and all of you as we remain committed to supporting the Academy and fostering the connections that make our maritime family strong.
