About Mariner Magazine

Mariner is the flagship magazine of Maine Maritime Academy. Its mission is to keep MMA graduates connected to the college and to one another, and to inform readers of the academy’s mission-critical initiatives, news, and opportunities for involvement. The magazine serves to strengthen the alumni network and sense of community as a source of information and inspiration.

Mariner also editorially supports the college’s Advancement Office efforts to build support for MMA, its students and programs. In-depth features, short articles, profiles, photos, and announcements provide avenues for connections between alumni, faculty, parents, and friends of the academy. The magazine is printed in April, August and December and is available online at mariner.mainemaritime.edu.

Shipmate is a bi-monthly alumni newsletter designed to complement the Mariner Magazine. Published in January, March, May, July, September and November, it’s mobile-friendly, allows commenting on articles, and incorporates interactive technologies, such as video, to communicate stories.
