Online Learning<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1521\" data-end=\"1668\">Upon registration, students will receive a confirmation email with login details for\u00a0<strong data-start=\"1606\" data-end=\"1616\">Canvas<\/strong>, Maine Maritime Academy\u2019s online learning platform.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1670\" data-end=\"1849\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1670\" data-end=\"1698\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1672\" data-end=\"1698\">The course is self-paced<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1699\" data-end=\"1764\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1701\" data-end=\"1764\">Modules must be completed sequentially with a quiz after each<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1765\" data-end=\"1849\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1767\" data-end=\"1849\">Allow up to 2 hours for the course to appear on your dashboard after registering<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Returning students can log in using their existing Canvas credentials.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Maine Maritime Academy alumni who previously used Canvas as undergraduates will receive a new Canvas account for their CPMD courses.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Participants<\/h3>\n<p>Minimum: 2 | Maximum: 4<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"2431\" data-end=\"2450\">Retake Policy<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2451\" data-end=\"2520\">Students who do not pass the exam on the first attempt may retake it.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>USCG Approval<\/h3>\n<p>Those who successfully complete this Advanced Shiphandling (MEMACE-22) course will satisfy the training requirements detailed in the following regulatory codes and standards:<\/p>\n<p>46 CFR 11.305(a)(3)(i) endorsement as master and 11.307(a)(3)(i) for STCW endorsements as chief mate on vessels of 3,000 GT or more and<br \/>\n46 CFR 11.311(a)(3)(i) endorsement as master and 11.313(a)(3)(i) endorsement as chief mate for STCW Code, as amended 2010, on vessels of more than 500 GT and less than 3,000 GT.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, students will also achieve the advanced ship handling standards of competence required by<\/p>\n<p>46 CFR 11.305(a)(2), 11.307(a)(2), 11.311(a)(2), 11.313(a)(2), and 11.315(a)(2);<br \/>\nSTCW Code Section A-II\/2 and Tables A-II\/2 as amended 2010, meeting the National Assessment Guidelines from NVIC 10-14 (Ch-2) Tasks, as documented in NVICs 10-14 (Ch-2) and 11-14 (Ch-2):<br \/>\nTasks 8.1.A;
