HIDE:<\/strong> If you cannot safely leave, find a safe place to hide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

BOMB THREAT\/
\nSUSPICIOUS PACKAGE
\n<\/strong><\/td>\n\n \nIF A BOMB THREAT IS RECEIVED:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
- \n
- Remain calm, and attempt to keep the caller on the phone as long as possible.<\/span><\/li>\n
- If your phone has caller ID, record the number displayed.<\/span><\/li>\n
- After the call is complete, immediately contact Campus Safety at x2479<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
- Provide for an orderly evacuation if ordered by emergency personnel.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Turn off cell phones and other radio transmitting equipment in the area.<\/span><\/li>\n
- DO NOT<\/strong> operate any power switch or light switch.<\/span><\/li>\n
- DO NOT<\/strong> use elevators.<\/span><\/li>\n
- DO NOT<\/strong> congregate in the building lobby.<\/span><\/li>\n
- DO NOT<\/strong> reenter the building until instructed to do so by the proper authorities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
IF YOU DISCOVER OR RECEIVE A SUSPICIOUS LETTER OR PACKAGE:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

- DO NOT<\/strong> attempt to open it.<\/span><\/li>\n
- DO NOT<\/strong> handle, shake, or move the package.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Avoid radio or cell phone use in close proximity.<\/span><\/li>\n

RESCUE<\/strong> anyone in the immediate danger area if you can safely do so.<\/span><\/p>\n
CONFINE<\/strong> the fire by closing doors to the fire scene and securing potentially dangerous substances and\/or equipment.<\/span><\/p>\n
EVACUATE<\/strong> the building by the nearest or alternate exit if possible. If you are not able to evacuate or you are a person with

EVACUATION
\n– GET OUT!<\/strong><\/td>\n\n \nPULL THE MANUAL FIRE ALARM<\/strong> to prompt a response for others to evacuate.<\/span><\/p>\n
EVACUATE<\/strong> the building as quickly as possible and go to the Building Rally Point (Get Out!).<\/span><\/p>\n
DO NOT USE ELEVATORS<\/strong> nor reenter the building until authorized emergency personnel give the \u201call clear\u201d signal.<\/span><\/p>\n
ASSIST THOSE WHO NEED HELP<\/strong> but carefully consider whether you may put yourself at risk. Alert authorities to those who may need assistance or any missing or trapped persons.<\/span><\/p>\n
IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO EVACUATE OR YOU ARE\u00a0<\/strong>A PERSON WITH SPECIAL NEEDS<\/strong> go to nearest stairwell

- If you cannot safely evacuate, find a secure area within your building to stay and await further information.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Assist those who need help, but carefully consider whether you may put yourself at risk.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Once within a safe place, attempt to secure the space (i.e. lock doors, close windows\/blinds).<\/span><\/li>\n
- If unable to lock the door, secure it by any means possible.<\/span><\/li>\n
- Remain quiet, unless making noise would be beneficial to your safety.<\/span><\/li>\n
- DO NOT<\/strong> open the door until a KNOWN<\/strong> law enforcement officer advises it is safe to do so or some other credible information, such as an E2 Campus emergency notification, is received advising the threat is over.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
SEVERE WEATHER<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

- If you are outside, proceed to the nearest protective building.<\/span><\/li>\n
- If sheltering-in-place due to severe weather, proceed to the lowest, most interior area of the building away from windows or hazardous equipment or materials.
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\nNothing contained within these guidelines should replace your common-sense ability to adapt and react to a changing situation and the specific threat presented.
