The picturesque town of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.castine.me.us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Castine<\/a>, the home of Maine Maritime Academy, is rich in history, culture, natural beauty, and maritime tradition.<\/p>\n<p>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/mainemaritime.edu\/about\/visit-mma\/map-directions\/\">map and directions<\/a> will help you plot\u00a0your trip down the winding road to Castine. The village&#8217;s main street has a bakery, bank, bookstore, general store, art galleries and two inns to welcome travelers. The summer season is busy with fairs and festivals, dining and shopping at the waterfront, golf, sailing, kayaking, and other pursuits.<\/p>\n<p>The campus\u00a0is 40 miles from Bangor, Maine&#8217;s third largest city, and close to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/acad\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Acadia National Park<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.baxterstateparkauthority.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Baxter State Park<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.appalachiantrail.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Appalachian Trail<\/a>, and other\u00a0attractions.
