NOTICE | COVID-19 Coronavirus Campus Events Update
All on-campus MMA events have been postponed at this time. We are transitioning to virtual events when possible. Please see individual event listings for details.
Each fall, first-year students gather at the stern of TS State of Maine for an official “jump” into their life as a Mariner. Join us as we watch President Brennan and the #ClassOf2022 take the plunge!
This tradition can be viewed live at the MMA Waterfront or via our streaming page: mainemaritime.edu/streaming.
Join us at the Monomoy Race sponsored by the Marine Society. Students from SUNY, Maine Maritime Academy, Mass Maritime, US Coast Guard Academy and USMMA will be competing in a round robin and seamanship skills competition followed by a celebratory BBQ and Awards from 1600h-1800h sponsored by the New York Marine Society. The BBQ tickets $25/adult and $10/child (12 years old and under).
If you would like to enjoy an adult beverage, this event is BYOB. There will be a designated area to watch the races from for those 21 years old or older (if you are not 21 years old or older, you will not be permitted in the designated area- no exceptions).
Head over to SUNY and cheer on the MMA Mariners!
Captain William Sabatini will give a presentation on the US Brig Niagara and the Schooner Lettie G. Howard, especially about a remarkable co-op opportunity aboard the Lettie for this summer. The Lettie will stop in Castine on her way north around Graduation time and take up to 12 MMA students on as trainees for the rest of the voyage to Erie, Pennsylvania.
No prior sailing or vessel experience necessary.
