Founders Day Legislative Reception
Following the events at the State House, a reception, hosted by the Maine
Maritime Academy Alumni Association, was held at the Senator Inn in
Augusta, where members of the MMA community--alumni, leadership,
faculty, staff, and students--joined Maine state legislators to kick off the 75th
anniversary celebratory year.
President of the Alumni Association, Jim Proulx '85 opened the evening's
remarks by noting, "Our graduates are known for their hands-on experience,
their can-do attitude, their superior work ethic and the ability to think on
their feet. They are sought after and enjoy one of the highest placement rates
