The ship departed our final foreign port today, bound for New York City. Antwerp was greatly enjoyed by everyone on board, but it’s good to be getting back into standard shipboard routine. During our stay, students explored the historic city, as well as branching out to other medieval cities, including Bruges and Ghent. Students and staff alike also had the opportunity take a bus trip to Bastogne, the site of much of the fighting in the Battle of the Bulge in late 1944. Charlie Company took their first training exam of second half today, and is already preparing for flashlights, just a week away. The ship also bunkered in Belgium, taking on fuel for the main engine and the diesel generators on board.
