Day 24: May 24, 2015

Posted on: May 24, 2015

Location: 36 58.4 N 033 29.4 W   Course 084   Speed 14.2 kts
Weather: Mostly Cloudy, Rain Showers   Wind: NE 12 kts.   Seas: Moderate swell

The seas remain fairly docile but the clouds and rain have rolled in. We spent the day keeping clear of the isolated showers so that deck maintenance could continue working without a fresh water rinse. The engineers started on their cruise plaque today, cutting the backing plate from a large piece of stock in the storeroom. Alpha completed their 3rd day of a 4 day training block with the engineers reviewing electrical systems and the electrical propulsion motor. This is likely to be the first night since leaving Charleston that the deckies will have a hard time shooting stars for their navigation project.
