Got Your 6 Recovery Assist

Eric Hadley ’01, who franchised a Got Your Six Coffee Company, has been focused on making a difference for those who don a uniform of service for this country through the power of coffee.

Over the past year and a half, Got your Six Coffee has:

  • donated coffee to organizations like Heroes and Horses to support their efforts of using equine therapy to rehabilitate veterans who are suffering from combat-related PTSD
  • supported operations at Kids of Our Heroes Adventure Camp, a place where kids of fallen heroes can come to learn coping skills while being around other kids who have experienced the same loss of a parent in the line of duty
  • co-branded a bag of coffee for the non-profit organization Team 5 Foundation to use the profits to support their efforts. Team 5 does humanitarian efforts in developing countries and serve as Tactical Medical Officers for the state of Idaho S.W.A.T. Team
  • mobilized to Florida to support first responders who were working tirelessly to restore the community after Hurricane Irma in the fall of 2017
  • assisted Blue Line Bears to build teddy bears out of the uniforms of fallen police officers for family keepsakes
  • supported operations at Peterson Outdoors Ministry, a retreat built for rehabilitation and recovery for those who have been injured in the line of duty
  • shipped hundreds of coffee care packages overseas to deployed service members
  • visited Fire Fighters who were on duty away from their families on Christmas Eve and passed out gifts of coffee to show appreciation
  • orchestrated a fundraiser and raffled off $10,000 in prizes to raise money for Operation Safe Haven in NJ so that the founder, Donnie Davis, could continue to build tiny homes for homeless veterans
  • organized an event where 16 First Responders and Veterans were put through a high-caliber training course with Tanto and Boon from the movie 13 Hours as a way to say thank you for their service and sacrifice. This also ultimately benefits the community because of the training these officers and service members would not normally receive
  • partnered with the TV hunting channel show HuntCo, using the profits from coffee sales of a co-branded bag of coffee to sponsor heroes, in this case an Air Force Veteran/Police officer, for an all-inclusive honor hunt as another way to show appreciation for those who serve. This also helps to provide food for the family

“We are very proud of our accomplishments to date and we are trying to do more!” says Hadley.

He and his team have been working on a project during the past year to complete a disaster response coffee truck that allows them to roll on site and take care of those who are working tirelessly to rebuild communities affected by tragedy. Thanks to their amazing partners and sponsors, the project is 85% complete.
