STATEMENT OF THE JOB

Reports to the Director of Fiscal Operations and responsible for supervising all purchasing staff and activities as well as preparing annual budgets and forecasting future needs.

DUTIES OF THE JOB

  1. Supervises purchasing staff.
  2. Ensures conformance with MMA purchasing policy and procedures.
  3. Facilitates participation in yearly financial audit.
  4. Forecasts purchasing needs based on historical data and uses this data to maximize cost savings on future purchases.
  5. Ensures professional and productive relationships with vendors.
  6. Reviews requisitions and purchase orders and supervises all ordering of products/services for MMA.
  7. Responsible for purchasing/service contracts, RFQ’s, RFP’s and oversight of vendor selection.
  8. Responsible for the preparation and administration of the annual purchasing unit budget.
  9. Monitors open requisitions and purchase orders.
  10. Evaluates vendors/suppliers based on cost, quality, service, availability, reliability, and selection variety.
  11. Participates in the development of specifications for equipment purchases, capital expenditures, and service contracts.
  12. Arranges for the disposal of surplus equipment as needed.
